Diesel Fleet Mechanic

National Star Services, a 28-year facility management company with nationwide operations, is hiring a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join a stable company in Chicago, IL 60612.

This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity for an experienced Truck Mechanic who takes pride in safety, teamwork, and keeping equipment operating efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify USDOT violations
• Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
• Complete truck and trailer repairs and general fleet maintenance
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems
• Repair or replace mechanical components and damaged equipment parts
• Document repairs and maintenance activities using computer systems
• Maintain safety, attendance, and quality standards
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Be available for overtime, holidays, and emergency call-ins as needed
