What you’ll do
The General Assembly Quality Vehicle Analysis Center Technical Specialist is responsible for performing technical causal analysis for complex product issues identified in the Production System and from Customer Feedback. This position utilizes specialized equipment in the Vehicle Analysis Center to aid in analysis.

Technical Analysis (Problem Solving):
- Perform analysis from requests driven by the Production and Quality Teams as well as determine when analysis is needed from results in historical data.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive resolution for high importance items
- Perform technical causal analysis utilizing specialized equipment to determine cause and resolve complex product issues identified in the Production system
- Report problem-solving status and findings to Senior Leadership at daily and weekly rounds
Routine Analysis:
- Perform functional analysis at set frequencies to ensure Conformity of Production/Product.
- Perform feature analysis at set frequencies to ensure Conformity of Production/Product.
- Aid in development of test cases and methods for analysis.
- Identify high risk cases from analysis and lead resolution activities
Corrective action monitoring:
- Support corrective action development
- Monitor corrective action implementation for effectiveness and react to NOK trends
Standardization:
- Create standard operations for utilizing equipment in the Vehicle Analysis Center
- Perform continuous improvement activities to improve standards
Training and Support:
- Support initial builds, vehicle launches, and production ramp-ups to ensure quality targets are met in pre-series and series operations
- Lead and provide training and guidance to general assembly staff on quality standards and techniques, including VDA requirements.
- Assist in the development of training materials and programs related to general assembly Quality.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Occasional travel for training, group site visits, or company events. Passport required.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred or equivalent work experience of:
- 5+ years of professional experience in automotive production and quality control concepts or a related field, including hands-on experience performing technical analysis.
Skills:
- Hands-on experience performing technical analysis in an analysis center or laboratory environment.
- Greenfield or Brownfield Automotive facility launch experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive processes, products, and materials, including familiarity with assembly tools, equipment, and best practices in the general assembly processes.
- Experience with VDA standards and their application in the automotive industry.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- In depth understanding of DMAIC methodologies and the ability to utilize them
- Excellent writing skills for developing clear and comprehensive quality standards and procedures.
- Data driven and evidence-based mindset.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience with analyzing electrical systems and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Quality Management software.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt preferred.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial Base Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
Internal Leveling Code: IC9
