The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating production-grade cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role emphasizes Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) ownership, Infrastructure as Code, cloud reliability, security, and cost-efficient design, supporting large-scale microservices and distributed systems.

### Responsibilities:
- Design, provision, and operate GCP infrastructure using Terraform with best-practice modular patterns.
- Own and operate production GKE clusters, including networking, storage, upgrades, and autoscaling.
- Manage core GCP services including IAM, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and networking.
- Design and implement cloud networking using Global Load Balancers (GLBs) and Regional Internal Load Balancers (RILBs).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud, infrastructure, and platform services.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices and least-privilege IAM models.
- Support monitoring of AI/LLM services for latency, errors, and cost anomalies where applicable.
- Identify and implement cloud cost optimization opportunities.
### Essential skills and/or Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
At least 2 years hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
Experience working with Kubernetes, specifically Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Experience working in cloud-native environments, with GCP preferred.
Solid understanding of GCP Compute, Storage, and Networking services.
Exposure to monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites Skills
