Job Description
We are seeking a high-performing Associate (1–3 PQE) to join our Global Financial Markets (GFM) practice in Australia, based in Sydney or Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on market-leading, complex transactions as part of a globally integrated team.
Our Banking & Finance practice is ranked Band 1 globally, with more Band 1 rankings in Chambers Global than any other law firm. From our Australian offices, we advise on complex cross-border financings and “first-of-a-kind” mandates, many of which are recognised by leading industry awards.
We provide end-to-end financial services advice to borrowers, sponsors, lenders, advisers and intermediaries across a broad spectrum of financial products and sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and private capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a wide range of financing transactions, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters
- Work closely with partners and colleagues across global offices to deliver seamless, integrated client solutions
- Take an active role in transaction execution, including drafting, negotiation, and client management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives
- Contribute to the development of junior lawyers and participate in knowledge sharing across the practice
Qualifications
- 2–4 years’ PQE (UK equivalent), with qualification in a Commonwealth jurisdiction
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- General banking
- Infrastructure / project finance
- Leveraged finance
- Restructuring
- Asset finance
- Structured finance
- Strong technical and transactional skills, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality legal advice
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictions and cultures
- Excellent academic credentials and strong commercial acumen
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
- Proactive approach to business development and client relationship management
- Commitment to continuous learning, mentoring, and team contribution
