Principal Engineer, Industrial Automation

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS:

• Total experience: 11+ years
• Strong expertise in Siemens WinCC OA, SCADA, and Industrial Automation systems
• Hands-on experience with PLC Programming and System Integration (Siemens S7/TIA, Rockwell, Schneider)
• Strong knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
• Experience with WinCC OA scripting, Python, C++, or similar programming languages
• Good understanding of OT Networking, redundancy, and high-availability architectures
• Knowledge of ISA-88, ISA-95, and OT Cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443)
• Experience in automation project delivery including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system validation
• Strong customer-facing, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills
• Preferred domain experience in Water & Wastewater, Chemicals, Process Industries, or Food & Beverage

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the design and architecture of industrial automation solutions using WinCC OA, SCADA, and PLC platforms
• Drive end-to-end project execution from requirements gathering through commissioning
• Integrate and support multi-vendor PLC systems and industrial communication networks
• Design scalable, secure, and highly available OT system architectures
• Develop and review automation applications, scripting, and system integration solutions
• Conduct technical design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering and cybersecurity standards
• Lead customer workshops, solution discussions, and technical presentations
• Troubleshoot complex automation and integration issues across OT environments
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership
• Ensure successful delivery of automation projects meeting quality, reliability, and performance requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fields
