Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Operate various laboratory equipment and perform tests using written procedures, specifications, and test methods.
  • Meticulously document all aspects of test projects including notes, calculations and other relevant detail.
  • Assist with routine user-level equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Review complex test plans and related specifications and test methods and determine appropriate timeline and critical path to fulfill all requirements.
  • Under the supervision of the project manager, coordinate all test activities for assigned projects. May include complex long-term projects 3-6 months to complete.
  • Effectively manage project workload to meet timing expectations.
  • Document weekly updates for all long-term projects and participate in project review meetings as needed.
  • Continuously monitor and, as appropriate, report the status of equipment performance, maintenance issues, and inventory of consumable laboratory supplies.
  • Assist with benchmark and research projects which are defined and assigned on a case-by-case basis.
  • Assist with special projects such as customer complaints, multi-lab round robin, MSA, etc.
  • Understand and assist with maintaining basic laboratory quality requirements including IATF 16949 and ISO 17025.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to.  Applicants must be able to work in a manufacturing industrial environment and be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  The use of a respirator may be required for specific job departments.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Two years of college-level training in mathematics and/or physical sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to plan and perform duties working from standard procedures, test methods and work instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong software skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Specific experience and skill in using MAPPER preferred.
  • High level of organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical / mathematical skills
  • Able to work in industrial manufacturing environment
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Able to multi-task and communicate well with others
  • Must be able to work in the US without visa or other sponsorship
  • Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity
