Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate handling of incoming and outgoing materials. This role ensures that shipments are processed efficiently, documentation is accurate, and materials are properly staged and tracked. This position relies on manual handling, pallet jacks, and coordination with forklift operators.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify and receive incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading
  • Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly
  • Accurately label, scan, and enter inventory data into SAP
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and carriers to ensure timely delivery and shipment of materials
  • Maintain organized staging areas for incoming and outgoing goods
  • Use manual pallet jacks and carts to move materials
  • Prepare shipping paperwork including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier forms
  • Work in conjunction with SCM team for inventory counts and cycle counting activities
  • Follow all Company safety standards and comply with PPE requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, colleagues, and supervisors
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager
  • Shift: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, with some overtime required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of shipping/receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, inventory systems, Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and part numbers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with carriers and freight scheduling

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and rubber materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with SAP or other warehouse management system
