Team Member - QC (Microbiology)

Job Description

To perform routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples in compliance with established SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Microbiological Testing

• Perform routine microbiological analysis such as:
  • Total Viable Count (TVC)
  • Pathogen testing (E. coli, Salmonella, etc.)
  • Sterility testing
  • Microbial Limit Tests (MLT)
  • Endotoxin testing (BET/LAL)
• Conduct media preparation, growth promotion testing (GPT), and sterilization activities.

• Environmental Monitoring

• Perform environmental monitoring of classified areas:
  • Air sampling (active/passive)
  • Surface monitoring (swab/contact plates)
  • Personnel monitoring
• Record and evaluate data against alert and action limits.

Qualifications

B.Sc / M.Sc in Microbiology

Additional Information

Instrument Handling

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment:
  • Autoclave
  • Incubators
  • Laminar Air Flow (LAF)
  • Colony counter
  • Particle counter (if applicable)
• Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance compliance.

• Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain documentation as per Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ensure accurate recording in logbooks, worksheets, and LIMS (if applicable).
• Follow SOPs, STPs, and regulatory guidelines (USFDA, EU GMP, WHO).
