Job Description
Lead and deliver a major, multi-year fleet procurement program covering buses and light vehicles, including sourcing from manufacturers (OEMs), national servicing and maintenance solutions, accessories and vehicle fit-out, and leasing/financing options. The role will drive total cost of ownership (TCO) value, safety and compliance, sustainability outcomes, and operational continuity through competitive sourcing and robust contracts.
Scope
- Categories: Buses (coach), light vehicles (utility, 4x4, EV/hybrid/ICE)
- Value: High-value, multi-year, multi-lot framework agreements
- Geography: Light vehicles National, Buses WA only
- Stakeholders: Operations, Fleet/Transport team, HSE, Finance, Legal, Sustainability, Commercial
- Suppliers: OEMs, dealers, leasing/financiers, body builders, fit-out/accessory providers, telematics, service networks, charging partners
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a Fleet Category Strategy and Sourcing Plan aligned to business demand, fleet replacement cycles, safety standards, and ESG targets (e.g., emissions reduction, EV transition).
- Establish the go-to-market model (multi-lot RFT/RFQ, panels/frameworks, catalogue agreements), with clear lotting for OEMs, leasing, servicing, accessories, and telematics.
- Build TCO models (capex/lease, accessories, maintenance, tyres, residuals, charging infrastructure) and business cases for approval.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years in strategic procurement/category management, with substantial fleet or heavy equipment sourcing experience.
- Demonstrated delivery of large, complex tenders with multi-lot structures and multi-year frameworks.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills (OEMs, leasing/finance, services, accessories), and contract drafting experience with Legal.
- Proven track record in TCO modelling, scenario analysis, and leasing/finance evaluation.
- Supplier risk management, safety-critical supply chains, and performance governance.
