About this role

Reporting into the CFO, the Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day finance function at splose, including financial operations, reporting, systems, and controls. As the leader in this space, you'll own the integrity of our numbers, build the processes and infrastructure we need to scale, and partner closely with the executive team, our investors, and external advisors to support smart, well-informed decisions across the business.

We're looking for someone who can help us level up our finance function as we grow across ANZ and international markets. splose is defining the Practice Management Software space, and this role would suit someone who loves to work in great teams, who thinks long term, and who wants to build a legacy at one of Australia's fastest-growing tech companies.

What you'll do

🤓 Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Manage the day to day finance function including hands on preparation and review across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasure and general ledger activities.

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including management reporting and board outputs.Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.

  • Ensure timely and compliant tax filings and regulatory reporting.

  • Lead external audit preparation and coordinate the audit process with external auditors.

  • Lead the R&D tax incentive process including data collection, stakeholder coordination and management of external advisors.

  • Vendor management for payroll, accounting, and bookkeeping.

  • Lead "financial control"

⚡️ Systems & Process Development

  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and automation tools.

  • Design and document scalable financial processes and controls.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial governance, accuracy and efficiency.

  • Deliver high quality accounting processes that ensure understanding of performance and provide effective internal financial controls.

  • Protect and safeguard the assets of the business, including IP, inventory, and other operational assets.

🧩 Strategic Support

  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions and investor reporting.

  • Support due diligence and financial modeling for fundraising or M&A activities.

🤝 Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including the executive team, tax advisors, banks and outsourced providers.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, sales, and operations teams.

What you'll bring

  • CPA/CA qualified or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in financial control, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment.

  • Strong experience in a SaaS company, and understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, etc.).

  • Proven experience implementing financial systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, or similar) with a focus on governance.

  • Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

How you'll work

While we’re proudly based in Adelaide, we’re a flexible, multi-city team — this role will work in a hybrid environment at our office in Sydney (Bondi Junction).
