Job Summary:

LaMarco Systems' Northbrook, IL branch is seeking a motivated Account Executive to drive growth through recurring monthly revenue generated from service agreements, monitoring contracts, preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and long‑term customer retention strategies.

This role is focused on converting installed systems and customer relationships into sustainable, long‑term recurring revenue streams. The ideal candidate brings strong consultative sales skills, disciplined follow‑up, and the ability to build trusted relationships that support ongoing account retention and expansion. The position operates primarily in the field throughout the Chicagoland area and works closely with service and operations teams to ensure successful onboarding and execution of sold agreements.

**This position is commission‑eligible; base salary range provided below**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and close new Recurring Monthly Revenue (RMR) opportunities through service agreements, alarm monitoring, inspections, testing, maintenance, and support contracts.
  • Identify and pursue recurring revenue opportunities within existing customer accounts as well as new commercial prospects.
  • Convert completed installation projects into ongoing service and maintenance relationships.
  • Proactively engage customers approaching warranty expiration to secure preventive maintenance and service agreements.
  • Build and maintain long‑term client relationships that support account retention and recurring revenue growth.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract structures for recurring services aligned with customer needs.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of RMR opportunities and track monthly close rates and sales activity.
  • Collaborate with operations and service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and execution of sold agreements.
  • Identify and pursue upsell opportunities including system upgrades, system additions, and expanded service coverage.
  • Maintain detailed sales activity reporting, including:
    • Monthly contract value secured
    • Annual contract value secured
    • Proposal conversion rate
    • Renewal success rate
  • Respond promptly to inbound leads and customer requests.
  • Meet or exceed company‑defined monthly and annual recurring revenue targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience in commercial security or fire protection.
  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue sales models preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturer products within the Security and Fire Protection industry is required, including Bosch, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Exacq, S2, Schlage Engage, Edwards EST, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to identify long‑term revenue opportunities beyond one‑time project sales.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with a high level of follow‑up discipline.
  • Excellent time management, pipeline management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Eligibility to obtain a PERC card from the State of Illinois.

This pay range reflects the compensation rate Fortis Fire & Safety reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and skillset. Compensation Rate
$70,000$80,000 USD

This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
