Job Description
At TAL, this role sits at the intersection of trust, innovation, and care — helping ensure our Claims function continues to support Australians when it matters most. By strengthening operational risk and governance, you’ll help embed confidence and integrity into how we reimagine claims, including the responsible use of AI and data-driven solutions. Your work will directly enable safer decisions, stronger outcomes, and sustainable change, supporting TAL’s purpose to protect people, not just policies, today and into the future.
In this role you will:
- Enable confident decision‑making by delivering pragmatic, commercially balanced risk and compliance advice across Claims.
- Embed robust risk governance into Reimagine Claims initiatives, including AI and automated decisioning, from design through delivery.
- Strengthen control effectiveness by overseeing assurance, monitoring, and reporting across Claims and technology‑enabled processes.
- Surface emerging risk insights by identifying themes and root causes from incidents, change activity, and transformation impacts.
- Ensure regulatory confidence through timely escalation and reporting of key risk and compliance exposures.
- Shape a strong risk culture by influencing stakeholders and championing responsible, compliant use of AI and data-driven capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bring practical risk or compliance experience and confidently apply it to real‑world business and transformation scenarios.
- Understand regulatory expectations (such as CPS230 and FAR) and help translate them into meaningful, workable outcomes.
- Assess and manage risk holistically, across operations, technology, and change, using sound judgement and analysis.
- Support strong control environments, including assurance activities within evolving or technology‑enabled processes.
- Navigate emerging risk areas, such as AI and automated decisioning, with curiosity, care, and a focus on responsible use.
- Build trusted relationships by communicating clearly, working collaboratively, and influencing with integrity.
- Familiarity with AI governance principles and the risk considerations associated with automated or AI-assisted decisioning in a regulated financial services environment
