About the Team
Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that automate repetitive manual work in real environments. We design and manufacture our hardware in-house, which means iteration, fabrication, and execution all happen under one roof.
To improve quickly, we need a dedicated team keeping test systems running and executing repeatable evaluations on real hardware. Our test team supports demos, end effector evaluation, motor and firmware testing, and forward deployment preparation.
About the Role
As a Test / Repair Technician at Droyd, you will keep test robots running and support hands-on testing across the hardware stack. You will diagnose issues, swap parts, perform repairs, and help maintain systems used for demos and evaluation.
This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who likes fixing things quickly and keeping hardware operational.
This role is based on-site in San Francisco, CA.
In This Role, You'll
Maintenance & Repair
Maintain demo and test robots in working condition
Diagnose simple hardware issues and perform repairs or part swaps
Help keep test hardware organized, available, and operational
Test Support
Support test setup, execution, and teardown
Assist with forward-deployed and demo-ready hardware preparation
Collaboration
Work with engineers and the broader test team to keep evaluation moving
Flag recurring failures and reliability issues early
Work Environment & Schedule
On-site in San Francisco, CA
Full-time
Compensation: $70K–$95K base salary, plus equity
This role involves standing for extended periods, working with hand and power tools, and close attention to detail.
We're Looking For Candidates Who
Are hands-on and mechanically inclined
Can troubleshoot and fix hardware issues quickly
Are organized and dependable
Work well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Are excited to work closely with real robotic systems
Nice to have:
Experience as a repair tech, maintenance tech, assembly tech, or lab tech
Experience with electromechanical systems
Experience supporting demos, test hardware, or field systems
