About the Team

Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that automate repetitive manual work in real environments. We design and manufacture our hardware in-house, which means iteration, fabrication, and execution all happen under one roof.

Rapid prototyping is a core part of how we develop hardware, and 3D printing is one of the fastest ways we turn ideas into parts. Our hardware team relies on printed parts for iteration, fixtures, prototypes, and test setups — keeping that operation running smoothly has a direct impact on engineering speed.

About the Role

As the 3D Printing Manager at Droyd, you will own the day-to-day operation of our printing workflow. You will keep printers running, manage materials, and make sure printed parts are produced reliably and on time.

This is a hands-on operational role for someone who likes keeping systems organized, running, and improving over time. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to support rapid hardware iteration.

This role is based on-site in San Francisco, CA.

  • Manage print queues, part prioritization, and machine uptime

  • Prepare, monitor, and post-process printed parts

  • Meet turnaround expectations for engineering and prototype builds

Maintenance & Materials

  • Handle material management, including storage and filament care

  • Maintain printers and troubleshoot common failures

  • Keep machines tuned, calibrated, and ready to run

Team Support & Improvement

  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to support rapid hardware iteration

  • Help improve reliability, throughput, and organization of the printing operation

  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient print area

Work Environment & Schedule

  • On-site in San Francisco, CA

  • Full-time

Compensation: $75K–$105K base salary, plus equity

  • Are organized and detail-oriented

  • Can keep multiple machines and priorities running smoothly

  • Are comfortable troubleshooting and maintaining hardware

  • Work well in a fast-paced prototyping environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting hardware, robotics, or prototype teams

  • Experience with printer maintenance and tuning

  • Experience managing print queues or shared shop resources
