POSITION TITLE: Merchandising Coordinator, Apparel

REPORTS TO: Director of Apparel, Salomon North America

BUSINESS AREA: Salomon Apparel                                         

LOCATION:  Ogden, UT                                                              

OVERVIEW

As a vital member of the Apparel Merchandising team, you will play a crucial role in providing merchandising support, managing samples, coordinating meetings, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the sales and marketing teams for the Apparel category in North America. Your ability to handle multiple tasks, analyze market trends, and maintain data integrity will be essential for the success of the product line. Additionally, proficiency in PC skills and software like PowerPoint and Excel will help you in various tasks related to tracking, analytics, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

Sample Management:

  • Place sample orders and coordinate with supply team to track inbound status
  • Track sale force sample shipments and receipt
  • Coordinate sample logistics through the sell-in process and ad hoc media requests

Product Assortment Management:

  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to curate and maintain product assortments based on market trends and customer preferences
  • Assist in conducting product analysis and market research to identify opportunities and gaps in the product line
  • Seasonal flow planning and capsule recommendations based on color theory and regional needs

Meeting Support:

  • Prepare samples for presentations
  • Assist in creating presentation materials
  • Coordinate meeting logistics
  • Assist in seasonal launch content: catalogs, VLPs, merchandising guides
  • Support marketing with category integration

Merchandising Operations:

  • Act as a liaison between sales and marketing teams
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Manage category information folders and databases

Market Analysis:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform merchandising decisions.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth.

Calendar Management:

  • Ensure critical dates and milestones in the product process are met

Qualifications

  • 2 years of related marketing, product, or merchandising experience
  • Prior experience in the lifestyle, outdoor or athletic industry with a focus on softgoods preferred; previous merchandising experience is advantageous, but not required
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Knowledge of trend insights in the apparel industry
  • An eye for visual merchandising, outfitting and assortment flows
  • Effective multi-tasking skills
  • Highly organized
  • Proficient in PC skills, PowerPoint and Excel
  • 20% travel
