INTERNSHIP - Sportstyle Footwear Jr Designer M/W - SALOMON

Job Description

Within the Sportstyle Footwear Design team, your main mission will be:

1. Design:

• Participate in the creation of footwear products primarily dedicated to the Sportstyle category, while contributing to cross-category workshops and collaborative projects.
• Create new designs as well as ongoing improvements.
• Monitor the implementation of design strategies (logo charters, design DNA).
• Contribute to the color, material and finishes offering for these products in collaboration with the color team.
• Create sketches, concepts and mock-ups, and be able to make prototypes in our sample room to show concepts to the team.
• Research material, construction and branding combinations.

2. Team connexion:

• Create and/or update design execution documents for Sportstyle footwear product development.
• Update files, tech packs, and posters.
• Participate in project groups (marketing/development/industrial).
• Study global trends and specific competitive analyses in the footwear market (worldwide).
• Communicate with collaborators, partners and suppliers to contribute to product development.
• Present design concepts and research to the team.

Qualifications

• Required experience: A first internship in FOOTWEAR design would be appreciated, with an understanding of sneaker and sportstyle culture.
• Education: 2 to 5 years of post-secondary education in design.
• Specific skills: Proficiency in graphic design, knowledge of contemporary design and footwear design, knowledge of Sportstyle distribution (consumer needs, attitudes, and behaviors).
• Foreign language(s): Fluent in English.
• Computer skills: Proficiency in professional software: Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop/Adobe InDesign, Office Suite, Clo 3D, Vizcom or other AI software would be a plus.

• Contract: Internship, convention agreement with your university/school mandatory.

At Salomon, internship compensation is structured as follows:

Internship allowance:

• High school diploma to Bachelor’s degree (up to Bac +3): €700 gross
• Master’s level (Bac +4/+5): €950 gross
• PhD: €1,200 gross

Housing allowance:

• €300 housing assistance, upon presentation of a rental lease located within 50 km of the headquarters, along with monthly rent receipts.
