Sr Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with 6+ years of experience managing enterprise database environments across Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure. The candidate will lead database administration activities, architecture planning, optimization initiatives, and cloud migration projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage highly available database environments.
• Lead database migration projects across cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Manage SQL Server performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Configure and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups.
• Establish database standards, governance, and security policies.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell and automation tools.
• Monitor database environments and proactively resolve issues.
• Support audit, compliance, and security requirements.
• Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Strong SQL Server Administration experience (2016/2019/2022).
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, Azure VM.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, and backup services.
• Expertise in HA/DR, replication, clustering, and Always On.
• Database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Cloud migration and hybrid architecture experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• PowerShell, T-SQL, and automation experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Azure Administrator or Azure Database certifications.
• AWS Database Specialty or equivalent certification.
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring tools.
• Exposure to multi-cloud database strategies.
