Lyka is an Australian founded pet wellness company that’s shaking up an outdated industry and paving the way for happier, healthier pets. Despite medical advancements, animal lifespans are on the decline. Today, the average pet only reaches 37% of their full potential lifespan and statistics have shown us that many suffer from dental disease, cancer, and obesity. Simply put, the status quo is not enough.

Our Mission

The time we share with our pets is being cut short. Despite medical advancements, they’re getting sicker earlier. They’re dying prematurely. The industry has it backwards - prioritising treating symptoms instead of addressing the root cause. That’s where we come in.

At Lyka, we take a preventative, holistic and personalised approach to pet care. We look at the full picture, factoring in the diet, lifestyle and environment of each individual animal.

We don’t stop at symptoms, instead we dig for the root cause. We create nutrition plans unique to each pet, because it’s not just about living longer, but living well too.

What you'll do:

• Supervise and lead the Afternoon Shift High Care shift team, ensuring clear communication of production goals and expectations. 
• Monitor production processes and adjust workflows to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide updates on shift progression versus weekly plan. 
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards throughout the production process. Ensuring compliance with CCP's and QCP's.
• Follow the escalation process when down time occurs.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, including Operations, Operations Efficiency, Maintenance, and SHEQ. 
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. 
• Collaborate with day shift and night shift management to relay information and ensure seamless transitions between shifts.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and operations to identify areas of improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of production output and team performance.
• Lead team meetings and encourage a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, and motivation.
• Keep headcount in line with company budgets and expectations. 

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Hands-on experience with production machinery and systems
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control processes
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments
• Willingness to work nights and flexible hours
• Experience in the food or pet industry is a plus
• A commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to challenges
