WHAT WE NEED
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant (CPA required or in progress) to join our finance team. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger accounts
- Assist in preparation of internal and external financial statements
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Support audit requests and coordinate with external auditors
Analysis & Reporting
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems
- Support automation and efficiency initiatives within finance operations
- Contribute to the development of scalable accounting practices
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with operations and business leaders to support financial decision-making
- Assist with special projects as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
- Active CPA license (or CPA designation in progress strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting systems including ADP, Sage, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills
Additional Assets
- Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based environments
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-state operations
- Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades
- Audit/public accounting experience
