Who We Are

Imprint is building a platform that helps the world’s best brands grow the lifetime value of their customers. We started with co-branded credit cards and rebuilt them to be smarter, more rewarding, and brand-first. We partner with companies like Crate & Barrel, Rakuten, Booking.com, H-E-B, Fetch, and Shell to launch modern credit programs that deepen loyalty, unlock savings, and drive growth. But the card is just the beginning. We combine advanced payments infrastructure, intelligent underwriting, and deep customer data to predict what each customer will do next and act on it, so brands can offer powerful financial products without becoming a bank.

Co-branded cards alone account for over $300 billion in U.S. annual spend, and most still run on legacy bank rails. Imprint is the modern alternative: flexible, modern, and built for how people actually pay today. Backed by Kleiner Perkins, Thrive Capital, Ribbit, and Khosla Ventures, we’re building a world-class team to redefine how people pay and how brands grow. If you want to move fast, solve hard problems, and own real outcomes, we want to meet you.

About this role

Almost nobody outside our walls knows what Imprint really is. People have a fuzzy sense that we do co-branded cards and little else. Meanwhile we're building something far bigger, with real growth, an enviable partner roster, and one of the best investor bases in fintech. Closing the gap between what we are and what the world thinks we are is why this role exists.

We're looking for a communications operator wired like a founder. Someone who wakes up thinking about how to make Imprint the name people in fintech, retail, and tech can't stop saying. This is not a corporate comms job. No press-release treadmill, no clip-count scorecards. You'll be handed a point of view about where this industry is going and asked to make the market believe it, working directly with the CEO and leadership team to turn strategy into public presence.

What you'll do

  • Own the narrative engine. Turn our positioning into bylines, posts, decks, talking points, and the occasional category-defining manifesto under the CEO's name. You draft fast and in our voice, not in boilerplate.

  • Build founder and executive profiles. Get our CEO and a few leaders in front of the right audiences: podcasts, stages, the lists worth being on, and a steady drumbeat on social that sounds like a person. You'll know which opportunities matter and which are noise.

  • Manufacture moments. An investor day. A product reveal. A launch with a partner everyone recognizes. You'll help conceive these and run them end to end so they land.

  • Start a media franchise. Recurring, reportable output, original data and charts journalists pull from on a schedule.

  • Run press yourself. Build real relationships with reporters covering fintech, payments, retail, and AI, and pitch them stories worth their time. No agency middle layer.

  • Measure what works. Share of voice, inbound from partners and recruits, the quality of who's now paying attention. Track honestly, double down on what moves.

What we look for

  • 8+ years of real experience across PR, comms, content, or brand, ideally in-house at a startup where you had to do everything yourself. Agency experience counts if you ran point on accounts rather than supporting them.

  • A great writer who can switch registers fast, from a punchy founder tweet to a tight pitch email to a 1,500-word point of view that reads like a person wrote it.

  • Real relationships with reporters, or a demonstrated ability to build them cold. You can name the people who cover our space and have opinions about how they work.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to ship.

  • Taste. You know the difference between hype that builds credibility and hype that burns it, and you lean toward proof over puffery every time.

  • Fluency with modern tools. You use AI to move faster on drafting, research, and production, and you're curious about where this is all going, since it's central to what we build and what we'll be talking about.

  • A founder's instinct for leverage. You see where one well-placed story or relationship opens ten doors, and you go after it without being told to.
