Keller Executive Search

Posted about 17 hours ago

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, Cincinnati-based aerospace-related manufacturing operation. Our client is seeking a Buyer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and procurement of electromechanical equipment, technical parts, and manufactured components.

This is a hands-on, onsite purchasing role focused on supplier sourcing, quote analysis, purchase order management, supplier delivery performance, and cross-functional support of production. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials arrive on time, meet customer and quality requirements, and support cost, delivery, and compliance targets.

This is not a transactional purchasing role. The right candidate will have experience sourcing technical or manufactured components, managing suppliers, using ERP systems, supporting supplier KPIs, and working in an ISO-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase electromechanical equipment, technical parts, manufactured components, tooling, and related materials.
  • Support commodity management activities, including supplier assessment, supplier selection, and supplier performance improvement.
  • Obtain, review, and analyze supplier quotes, including cost breakdowns, delivery timelines, quality, and supplier capability.
  • Select competitive supplier proposals based on price, quality, delivery, and overall value.
  • Create, enter, maintain, and track purchase orders within the ERP system.
  • Lead or participate in weekly delivery status meetings with key suppliers.
  • Resolve day-to-day procurement issues through immediate action, short-term planning, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve nonconformities and support customer and contract requirements.
  • Support supplier training, cost reduction initiatives, and performance improvement projects.
  • Facilitate the movement of materials to support production, including the receipt of raw materials and shipment of finished goods.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly supplier KPI reports.
  • Maintain and support the Approved Supplier List.
  • Support supplier surveillance, evaluations, and audits, including travel to supplier sites.
  • Follow company processes and procedures to maintain ISO certification requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Able to work onsite full-time in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in sourcing, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a closely related function.
  • Experience sourcing electromechanical tools, equipment, technical parts, or manufactured components.
  • Experience entering, maintaining, and tracking purchase orders in an ERP system.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing and supply chain management methodologies.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier communication, and quote analysis skills.
  • Experience with supplier performance, supplier follow-up, delivery issues, or supplier improvement activities.
  • Ability to work with internal departments to resolve nonconformities and support customer or contract requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to supplier locations in North America, South America, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally during supplier visits, evaluations, and audits.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with supplier surveillance, supplier evaluations, or supplier audits.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge of special manufacturing processes and methods, including machining and welding of complex metal parts.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, geometric symbols, and GD&T principles.
  • Experience maintaining or supporting an Approved Supplier List.
  • Experience preparing, distributing, or analyzing supplier KPI reports.
  • Experience supporting supplier cost reduction projects.
  • Aerospace, defense, aviation, industrial equipment, tooling, precision machining, fabrication, or technical manufacturing experience.
