What is the purpose of this job?  

This role will manage as directed the development implementation and ongoing support of risk-based compliance testing to ensure compliant solutions with all existing and new RDG Policies and Standards, identifying non-compliance, risks and providing solution-based alternatives. This role will additionally encompass certification testing being part of the standards enhancements currently in flight within DTS.

This role will also encompass execution of scripted solutions on multiple Digital Ticketing projects/enhancements/upgrades and support related activities.

What can I expect to do in this job?  

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but things you can expect to lead and be involved with include:

·       Identify manage and implement a range of manual as well as automation test scripts utilising identified tool(s) to ensure high quality and enduring testing output and reporting.

·       Providing detailed technical input and opportunities for automation across the test spectrum and portfolio.

·       Contribute to the development of test cases for new standards currently being developed for both internal testing as well as external Vendor testing.

·       Certification Testing with Suppliers and vendors, analysing outputs against Standards and recommending approvals for Certification as well as managing issues and shortfalls.

·       Develop implement and execute continuous risk-based compliance testing to ensure effectiveness of RDG’s policies and standards.

·       Implement and maintain a Non-Compliance Risk Register and develop recommendation on corrective measures as well as enhancements to RDGs policies and standards.

·       Provide testing support within the Test portfolio across multiple projects and initiatives.

·       Deliver Technical documentation and guides as required.  

·       Where required representing the DTS service at relevant Boards and forums.

·       Building strong relationships with peers internally and from suppliers, customers, stakeholders, standards Authorities, and vendors.

·       Day to day management of own activities and prioritise accordingly.

·       Aptitude for complex IT systems and messaging.

·       Keen understanding of system analysis.

·       Ability to work independently to achieve project deliverables & timescales.

 

 

 

Requirements

What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?

The successful candidate will have proven experience in the implementation and execution of testing activities, including test automation, within large and complex solutions that operate under strict standards‑compliance frameworks.

They will demonstrate a strong track record in the production and delivery of technical documentation, including test artefacts, guides, and supporting materials, as required. Experience in certification and standards‑based testing is highly desirable.

The role requires demonstrable experience in interpreting technical specifications and standards documentation and translating these into robust, traceable test scenarios and test cases. The candidate will also have proven capability in technical problem‑solving, risk identification, and the application of ITIL‑aligned processes.

This position will involve close collaboration with cross‑functional internal teams, as well as technical teams from suppliers, customers, stakeholders, and Standards Authorities.

Candidates must be familiar with industry‑standard test tools and technologies, including SOAPUI/REST, Playwright, Selenium, Python, and SQL, alongside test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA and TestRail.

A detailed working knowledge of ITSO specifications and rail‑related standards (including RSPS 3002 and related frameworks) is essential, as standards compliance and formal certification will be a core responsibility of the role.

Knowledge of cEMV processes and practices is desirable.
