Overview
We’re hiring a skilled CNC Machinist & Honing Specialists to join our dynamic team, where we build specialized industrial equipment and advanced production solutions used across the marine and fluid movement industries.
This unique role blends specialized finishing with traditional machining. You will spend 25% to 50% of your week operating honing equipment, with the remainder focused on CNC machining on mills and lathes. You’ll take ownership of the entire production cycle, leveraging your mechanical aptitude to perform independent setups, interpret complex blueprints, and optimize machine programs.

Compensation
- $22 – $28 / hr base
1st Shift
- Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities
- Dual-Role Machining: Operate both honing equipment (25-50% of the time) and CNC machinery to produce precision parts and components consistently.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze blueprints and technical drawings to ensure products are sized, machined, and honed correctly.
- Machine Setup: Prepare CNC machines and honing equipment for operation by loading tools, fixtures, and materials, and setting parameters (tool offsets, work coordinates, cutting paths).
- Program Optimization: Collaborate with engineering/programmers to make minor modifications, optimizing tool paths, cutting speeds, and feed rates for efficiency and accuracy.
- Quality & Inspection: Inspect finished parts for defects and verify strict dimensional tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC and honing machines, including cleaning, lubricating components, replacing worn tooling, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Documentation & Software: Maintain accurate records of production output, setup sheets, and program revisions, while updating job data and inventory in manufacturing software.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and proactively maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of related manufacturing experience with advanced knowledge of CNC machining.
- Honing Experience: Hands-on experience setting up and operating honing equipment is a strong plus.
- Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to interpret blueprints, instructional drawings, and comprehend strict machine tolerances.
- Metrology: High mechanical aptitude with the proven ability to effectively use precision gauges and measurement tools.
- Core Skills: Basic math and computer skills required for manufacturing software updates and minor program adjustments.
