Trovy
Posted about 10 hours ago
Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Risk Management Analyst, Cards to own the data and risk intelligence behind Trovy's card product. You'll build the analytics infrastructure that drives card portfolio strategy, monitor and manage transaction fraud, and deliver the insights that keep Trovy's card performing well for both borrowers and the business. This role has clear ownership distinct from Trovy's credit and underwriting function, which focuses on origination and HELOC servicing. You'll work closely with our BIN sponsor and card network partners, and have direct influence on how Trovy's card product evolves. This is a senior IC role with meaningful growth potential as the card portfolio scales.
Key Responsibilities
Card Portfolio Analytics
Own end-to-end card portfolio analytics: spend behavior, draw patterns, utilization, interchange economics, and cardholder engagement
Build and maintain portfolio performance reporting for internal leadership, board, and lending partners
Develop cohort and vintage analyses to track cardholder behavior over time and identify trends early
Analyze the relationship between card usage and HELOC draw activity to surface insights on product engagement and cross-product behavior
Model interchange revenue, rewards cost, and net card economics to inform product and pricing decisions
Partner with finance on card-related forecasting and portfolio projections
Fraud Risk & Detection
Own Trovy's card fraud strategy across transaction fraud, card-not-present fraud, account takeover, and friendly fraud
Build and maintain fraud detection rules, velocity controls, and behavioral models in partnership with product and engineering
Monitor fraud loss trends by channel, merchant category, and cardholder segment, and respond to emerging patterns in real time
Manage chargeback and dispute analytics, including win rate tracking and root cause analysis
Evaluate and optimize third-party fraud tooling
Coordinate with Trovy's BIN sponsor on fraud reporting, rule alignment, and network compliance requirements
Experimentation & Optimization
Design and analyze experiments across fraud controls, card features, and rewards, balancing loss reduction with cardholder experience
Build frameworks to evaluate the tradeoff between fraud prevention and false positive rates on legitimate transactions
Develop prioritization models for fraud intervention investments based on loss impact and operational cost
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Deliver regular fraud and portfolio performance readouts to leadership, with clear narratives and recommended actions
Support board and investor reporting with accurate card portfolio metrics
Communicate fraud trends and control changes to bank and network partners in a clear, structured format
Translate complex analytics into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders across product, compliance, and operations
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in card analytics, fraud risk, or a closely related field at an issuer, fintech, or payment network
Deep expertise in card transaction fraud — CNP, ATO, friendly fraud — and the detection and prevention tooling that supports it
Strong card portfolio analytics background: interchange, spend analytics, utilization, cohort analysis, and cardholder behavior modeling
Advanced SQL skills; proficiency in Python or R strongly preferred
Experience with fraud detection platforms such as Feedzai, Sardine, Sift, or similar — ability to evaluate and optimize tooling is a plus
Familiarity with Mastercard or Visa network rules, chargeback processes, and BIN sponsor relationships
Card issuer experience required (fintech or bank)
Comfortable operating as a senior IC in a fast-moving, early-stage environment
What You'll Bring
Deep analytical instincts — you live in the data and know how to find the signal in the noise
A proactive approach to fraud risk — you're thinking three steps ahead, not just reacting to losses
Strong judgment on when to tighten controls and when friction hurts more than it helps
Ability to build from scratch — frameworks, models, and reporting infrastructure that didn't exist before you arrived
Clear, confident communication with both technical teams and senior leadership
