Who We Are:
Being naked is the #1 most sustainable option. We're #2.
Since 2009, we've been on a mission to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. Named one of Fast Company’s Brands That Matter and winning a Best Carbon Footprint award, we have big goals like being Climate Positive by 2025, Circular by 2030, and pushing the whole industry forward along the way. Our work has gotten love in Drapers and Sourcing Journal, and TIME wrote about how great our CEO, Hali Borenstein, is. Basically, we're saving the Earth and looking damn good doing it.
We're a global brand with 50+ stores (and counting) around the world, and our own sustainable factory in LA. We innovate across categories like accessories, swimwear, and sleepwear, and we reach millions of people with campaigns like this, this and this.
None of this work is possible without the incredible people behind it. We're a mission-based company that invests in an inclusive culture, so we can innovate together and ensure everyone has the space to grow, thrive, and belong.
And starting right now, we want to do all that with you.
Work Location/ Schedule: Vernon, CA | Hybrid 4 Days In Office
Reformation is seeking a Director, Tax & Treasury to lead our global Tax and Treasury functions as we enter our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic tax leader with deep technical expertise across U.S. federal, state, and local jurisdictions, the judgment to strengthen our internal tax capability, and the executive presence to partner with external advisors on how the function should evolve. They'll also bring strong treasury fluency, elevating and scaling our cash management, forecasting, banking, and equity administration activities to support a rapidly growing, internationally complex business. This is a high visibility leadership role for a strategic builder who can set the vision, design the systems, and roll up their sleeves to execute. If you thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and are excited to make a meaningful impact on Reformation's continued growth, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
Tax
-
- Own the company's global tax strategy, compliance, and reporting, with primary emphasis on U.S. federal, state, and local statutory taxes.
- Lead the income tax provision process, including quarterly and annual reporting, deferred tax analysis, and uncertain tax positions.
- Manage indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including sales and use tax and other consumption based taxes tied to our retail and e-commerce channels.
- Oversee transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and intercompany agreements to support our growing international entity structure.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics on customs, duties, and tariff planning, including the financial impact of sourcing decisions and cross border product flows.
- Lead tax planning for international expansion, including entity setup, analysis, and cross border structuring as we enter new markets.
- Evaluate, manage, and optimize relationships with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure the right mix of internal and external capability as the function matures.
- Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory changes globally and translate implications into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
Treasury
-
- Lead all aspects of global cash and liquidity management, including partnering with FP&A on cash flow forecasting, scenario modeling, and actionable insights for the CFO and leadership team.
- Own day to day visibility into all cash in and cash out activity across global bank accounts, subsidiaries, and entities, partnering closely with Accounting on reconciliations and bank balance accuracy.
- Partner with the CFO on capital structure, ownership reporting, and other strategic finance initiatives as needed, coordinating with external advisors where appropriate.
- Assist in debt management, including covenant reporting, lender compliance reporting, intercompany funding, and capital allocation planning.
- Build and oversee foreign exchange and interest rate risk management strategies as we continue to expand internationally.
- Drive automation, systems improvements, and scalability across treasury operations, leveraging NetSuite and Ramp.
- Establish and continuously improve treasury policies, controls, and reporting to support an audit ready function built to the highest standards of governance, controls, and reporting rigor.
- Manage, optimize, and expand relationships with banking partners and payment providers, including scalable banking solutions for new international markets.
Leadership
-
- Build, mentor, and develop a high performing Tax and Treasury team as the function scales.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO and broader Finance leadership on capital planning, new market entry, and other strategic initiatives.
- Partner cross functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Supply Chain, Tech, and Operations to embed Tax and Treasury considerations into business decisions.
- Champion a culture of accuracy, accountability, automation, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
-
- 10+ years of progressive Tax and Treasury experience, with a meaningful mix of public company and in house leadership at a multinational, multi entity organization.
- Experience managing and evaluating external tax advisors, with a clear point of view on when to insource vs. outsource as a function matures.
- Hands-on experience with cash flow forecasting and modeling, banking relationships, covenant and compliance reporting, FX hedging, and intercompany treasury in a multi currency environment.
- Experience supporting international expansion, including entity setup, cross border structuring, and integrating Tax and Treasury into new market launches.
- Prior experience in retail or other inventory based, omnichannel CPG / DTC business strongly preferred, given the complexity of cash flow forecasting, supplier payments, and inventory considerations.
- Strong technical proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; NetSuite and Ramp experience preferred.
- Track record of elevating and scaling Tax and Treasury functions at a high growth or scaling business.
- Proven people leader with a track record of mentoring and developing high performing teams.
- Exceptional communicator who can translate complex technical analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for executives, the Board, and non finance partners.
