Metal Fabrication Equipment Operator

Compensation: Up to $27.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Equipment Operator to support shop operations by cutting, shaping, and forming structural steel and miscellaneous metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience operating fabrication machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
### Essential Duties
Set up and operate press brakes, shears, and other fabrication equipment to process steel and metal materials.
Produce components according to specifications outlined in blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
Perform measurements, layouts, and material marking using precision tools such as tape measures, levels, squares, and related equipment.
Verify completed parts for dimensional accuracy and overall quality.
Move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts and overhead cranes.
Follow established safety procedures and contribute to an organized, efficient work environment.
Assist with general fabrication and production activities as needed.
### Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating press brakes, shears, or similar metal fabrication equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production documents.
Experience working with structural steel and/or miscellaneous metal fabrication.
Proficiency using measuring, layout, and inspection tools.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing quality work.
Commitment to maintaining safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
### Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or steel processing environment.
