About the Opportunity
People Operations Coordinator | $60-70k annual salary; paid hourly, overtime eligible.
David Zwirner seeks a People Operations Coordinator for its New York headquarters to join and support our People Operations team. This role demands exceptional organizational capabilities, a strategic mindset for managing multiple projects, and a keen eye for detail, all while fostering a collaborative environment that upholds our high standards. The People Operations Coordinator should have strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, which are essential to the role.
Candidates must be diligent, extremely organized, and possess excellent time management and communication skills.
What you’ll do:
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assist with recruitment as assigned.
- Provide support with benefits and COBRA administration, managing paid leave and workers’ compensation claims, and helping with employee perks management. Act as liaison between staff and insurance providers.
- Respond to employee inquiries about PTO, benefits, and company policies.
- Maintain internal records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure accurate employee records are maintained and secured across all platforms.
- Prepare correspondence as required, such as verification of employment letters and unemployment claims.
- Assist with HRIS updates and reporting, timekeeping, and paid time off management; liaise between staff and payroll provider.
- Handle the management of departmental expenses.
- Communicate with vendors and assist in planning department events and staff engagement.
- Schedule meetings and interviews as requested.
- Support the People Operations team in tasks and projects as needed.
What we would like you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Sociology, Communications, Business Administration or Arts Administration, Art History, or related field.
- 1-3 years of Human Resources/People Operations or relevant administrative experience, preferably at a gallery, museum, auction house, or similar field.
- Strategic thinker, self-motivated, resourceful, and a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Capable of working flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to discretion and the ability to keep sensitive details confidential.
