At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious mission: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. Through our marketplace app, we connect businesses that have unsold, surplus food with consumers who buy and enjoy it at ½ price or less.
At Too Good To Go, you’ll join a team that cares about developing strategic partnerships, making value-based decisions, and finding innovative solutions to the world’s food waste crisis. You’ll lead an elite team to elevate our North American growth and collaborate daily with world-class minds – while doing work that’s both high-impact and deeply meaningful.
Your Mission
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Business Operations to manage marketplace health and strategic projects across the US & Canada. As Head of Business Operations, you will surface areas for improvement and work cross-functionally to develop and execute tactics and processes to drive performance, down to the hyperlocal level. While you will report directly to the Associate Director of Strategy & Operations, you will be part of the North America Leadership Team and work closely with the Vice President of Operations.
The role
- Local Marketplace Health: Monitor marketplace health at the national and city level; surface opportunities to improve the balance of supply and demand, and collaborate with relevant departments to drive the right actions (e.g., increasing supply availability and/or quality, increasing user volumes and/or purchase frequency) in the right geographies
- Cross-Functional Projects: Manage high-priority cross-functional projects with strategic implications for the business; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on critical project metrics, and keep stakeholders informed of progress
- Local Strategy: Develop, communicate, and operationalize strategies that help Too Good To Go North America achieve its goals
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights into concise, actionable recommendations that can be digested by leaders across the business; ensure analytical and operational rigor in our reporting and processes
- Knowledge Sharing: Support knowledge and best practice sharing and implementation among local and global stakeholders; drive adoption of team knowledge base to ensure key processes are documented and shared across the organization
- Business Planning: Support the development of operating forecasts and long-term business plans by partnering cross-functionally to model performance, identify key drivers, and inform strategic decision-making
- Leadership: Manage a small but mighty team of Business Operations Managers & Specialists (currently 3 FTEs), and show up as a key leader across the North American business
We’re looking for
- Significant work experience with demonstrated success in high-performance cultures (whether in consulting, investment banking, or strategy or operations at a high-growth marketplace/technology company)
- An experienced people leader known for having honest, direct conversations to address performance and uphold a high standard
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects, owning revenue or growth goals, and working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ownership mindset and proactive attitude to find and implement solutions for complex issues
- Ability to build deep, trust-based relationships and collaborate with local and global stakeholders across departments
- Inspiring, engaging, and motivating communicator – in person and online
- Strong data retrieval, analytics, data visualization, and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides
- Experience with Salesforce (reports, dashboards), Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Looker), and SQL are a strong plus
- Comfort with, and eagerness to use, AI tools to drive operational efficiency and speed up growth
- You are based in (or willing to relocate to) New York City
