Litigation Lawyer — Insurance & Property Damage

About the role
Our client is a boutique Sydney litigation firm with a strong reputation in motor-vehicle property damage and insurance disputes — including credit-hire claims and appellate matters. They're growing, and hiring a litigation lawyer (2–8+ years PQE) into a hands-on role with genuine file ownership and a clear pipeline of ongoing work.
This is a litigation-focused position. You'll run a varied caseload with appropriate supervision, primarily across property damage (mostly motor vehicle), insurance disputes (defendant-side, with some plaintiff exposure), and business-interruption and large-machinery claims. Broader commercial work (business sales/purchases, leasing, disputes, corporate advice, franchising) is available if it interests you — but it's optional, not a core expectation.
What you'll do
Run your own litigation files end-to-end, with appropriate supervision
Property-damage matters, predominantly motor vehicle claims
Insurance disputes on the defendant side, with some plaintiff exposure
Business-interruption and large-machinery claims
Appear in or support matters in the Local and/or Magistrates Court
Optional commercial work if it interests you
What they're looking for
2–8+ years PQE with solid, hands-on litigation experience and file management
Local and/or Magistrates Court experience
Comfortable running matters with appropriate supervision
Practical, commercially minded, suited to a hands-on boutique
Currently in private practice at a comparable litigation firm — this role is about delivery, not in-house
Nice to have: insurance-litigation experience (preferred, not mandatory), motor-property / credit-hire exposure, appellate experience
