Sr. Supply Chain Analyst
Ember Life Sciences Inc.
Posted about 12 hours ago
Ember is seeking a high-impact Supply Chain Analyst who can operate at a senior individual contributor level and support a broad range of supply chain activities as the organization scales.
This is a force-multiplier role. You will support manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and sourcing decisions by building analytical structure, visibility, and discipline across the supply chain. The scope is intentionally broad and hands-on, spanning data analysis, operational execution, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Contract Manufacturers, and Logistics partners to help Ember scale reliably and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
· Manufacturing & Contract Manufacturing Operations
· Analyze BOM structures, material costs, and build configurations across multiple product lines
· Track and explain purchase price variance (PPV), spot buys, and cost drivers
· Support build planning, MOQs, and capacity alignment with contract manufacturers
· Maintain visibility into build status, material readiness, and risks
· Develop standardized reporting for CM performance, yield, and cost trends
· Logistics & Cold-Chain Shipping Analytics
· Analyze shipment data across lanes, carriers, and regions (outbound and return)
· Support cold-chain performance analysis (time, temperature, exceptions, loss)
· Track shipping costs, transit times, and carrier performance
· Identify opportunities to reduce cost and variability while maintaining service levels
· Inventory & Demand Planning
· Monitor inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
· Support demand forecasting inputs and supply planning assumptions
· Identify risks related to excess, obsolete, or constrained inventory
· Help establish inventory policies, reorder logic, and planning cadence appropriate for a scaling startup
· Cost, Sourcing, and Supplier Performance
· Build and maintain supplier cost models and spend visibility
· Track supplier performance metrics (cost, delivery, responsiveness)
· Support sourcing decisions with data-driven analysis
· Assist with supplier negotiations through fact-based insights
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
· Leadership has clear, trusted visibility into cost, inventory, and operational drivers
· Manufacturing and logistics decisions are supported by repeatable analyses, not ad-hoc firefighting
· PPV, inventory exposure, and shipping costs are understood and actively managed
· Core supply chain reporting is simpler, cleaner, and more actionable
· You are increasingly acting as an owner, not just an analyst — positioning yourself for a Manager role
Compensation & Benefits (California Pay Transparency)
· Base salary range: $85,000 – $135,000 per year
· This salary range is provided in compliance with California pay transparency laws and reflects the expected base compensation for this role at the time of posting.
· Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on experience, skills, role level (Analyst vs Senior Analyst), and location.
· Ember also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health benefits, a 401 (k), and other benefits consistent with a growth-stage company.
Requirements and skills
· 5–8+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or logistics analytics
· Strong experience with technology hardware products, including BOMs, materials, and build processes
· Hands-on experience with contract manufacturing and external suppliers
· Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (modeling, pivots, structured analysis)
· Experience supporting build planning, inventory, and cost management in a dynamic environment
· Comfortable operating across multiple problem types at once in a startup or growth-stage company
· Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Experienced with ERP or planning systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
· Experience with hardware, electronics, or electromechanical products
