Team Overview:
Our Enterprise Applications team is the operational backbone of Impinj, responsible for the systems that power how we finance, sell, build, hire, and scale. The team manages a broad portfolio of applications and services spanning ERP, CRM, cloud-native platforms, and custom-built solutions, supporting every function across the organization. The team's work extends beyond internal operations, powering technology platforms that directly shape how customers experience and engage with Impinj.
We are seeking a Senior Director of Enterprise Applications to lead this team as Impinj grows. Reporting to the VP of IT, this is a people-first leadership role focused on coaching and growing a high-impact team, managing consultant and vendor engagements, and stewarding a technology strategy that scales with the business.
What You Will Do:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of business systems engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Manage multiple concurrent consultant partnerships, accountable for the quality of deliverables and outcomes
- Oversee a large and complex vendor portfolio, ensuring alignment to architectural standards, delivery timelines, and contractual requirements
- Define and lead a multi-year strategy for the enterprise applications portfolio while maintaining accountability for near-term delivery
- Own the enterprise application architecture across ERP, CRM, cloud-native SaaS platforms, and custom integrations, ensuring coherence, scalability, and reliability across the full portfolio
- Lead the strategic adoption of AI tools and capabilities across the enterprise, identifying high-value opportunities and building organizational readiness to scale responsibly
- Drive prioritization across a complex environment, balancing long-term strategic initiatives with operational needs, and leading delivery of major programs
- Establish architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance frameworks including SOX compliance, and manage the portfolio budget across vendor contracts, licensing, staffing, and project investment
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, Engineering, Sales, and Operations — bringing a solid understanding of how each function operates to identify opportunities where technology and AI can drive efficiency, reduce friction, and unlock new capabilities
- Translate business needs into clear technology roadmaps and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to both executive and operational audiences
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise applications, business systems, or IT, with at least 8 years in a people management role
- Demonstrated experience building and developing highly effective teams, fostering individual growth and creating conditions where people can contribute and thrive
- Deep familiarity with ERP platforms (D365 F&O, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and CRM ecosystems (Salesforce), including architecture, integration, and governance
- Consistent track record of developing and delivering technology strategy grounded in strong enterprise architecture principles, cloud-native SaaS patterns, and cross-system integration design
- Experience leading enterprise-wide technology changes, including evaluating new platforms, building business cases, and driving adoption across diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience managing multi-vendor and consultant ecosystems including contract oversight, performance management, and budget stewardship
- Deep working knowledge of SOX, ITIL, and Agile/SDLC methodologies, with the judgment to apply the right framework for the context and draw on the strengths of each
