About the Role: 

CDC’s expansion into Maddington, WA is moving quickly and we’re excited to kick off recruitment for a key leadership role within the team. This is a great opportunity to join the WA journey from the ground up and play a big part in shaping the team as it grows.

In this role, you’ll step into a pivotal leadership position supporting the delivery of high-performing technical facilities management across CDC’s data centres. You’ll lead and develop a team of shift Service Technicians, driving a strong culture, operational excellence, and a consistent, high-quality service for our customers.

You’ll work closely with other technical leaders, and the broader operations team to ensure everything runs smoothly across the site, from day-to-day maintenance and incident response through to longer-term planning and initiatives.

Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and deliver preventative and reactive maintenance across critical electrical, mechanical and fire systems
  • Align maintenance plans with operational priorities, risk, and resource availability
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the technical team, including workforce planning, performance and development
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing, safety-first culture across shift-based teams and contractors
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, incidents and root cause analysis
  • Drive reliability and uptime across all critical infrastructure, ensuring systems operate within design parameters
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including efficiency, sustainability and system optimisation
  • Coordinate and deliver site projects and initiatives, ensuring minimal operational impact
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and technical drawings) and drive best practice
  • Support client engagement and service delivery, ensuring strong communication and a high standard of customer experience

About You:

This role will suit a strong technical leader who enjoys staying close to operations and being across what’s happening on site. You’ve stepped into leadership or supervisory roles and know how to guide a team while still being actively involved in decision-making and outcomes. You’re comfortable in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and take pride in keeping things running smoothly.

We're looking for someone who leads by example, communicates well, and is motivated by building and shaping a team from the ground up.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience working in critical infrastructure or similar high-risk, high-availability environments
  • A trade or engineering background (electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, fire or similar)
  • Experience across maintenance or operations in technical environments
  • Proven ability to lead or coordinate small to medium teams and contractors
  • Confidence managing competing priorities and performing under pressure, especially during incidents
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
  • Experience with systems like BMS/EMS and exposure to equipment such as UPS, generators, CRAC units etc.
  • Solid understanding of safety, compliance and operating within structured procedures
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to simplify technical information for different audiences
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on doing things properly

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
