Associate, Fleet Operations

The Associate, Fleet Operations supports the planning, coordination, and

delivery of fleet and depot operations activities that contribute to operational readiness and Games-time delivery for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The role focuses on supporting depot development and readiness activities, maintaining operational documentation, coordinating logistics and project tracking, and assisting with the implementation of fleet operational plans and procedures.

Working within the Transport Department and the Fleet Operations subfunction, the Associate collaborates across internal teams including Technology, Workforce, Readiness, Venue Operations, and Security. The role also supports engagement with external operators, vendors, contractors, and public agencies as needed to support fleet and depot operations planning and delivery.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fleet Operations focusing on Depot Operations, the position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple operational workstreams simultaneously. The Associate will contribute to operational readiness activities by supporting

depot planning efforts, maintaining project tools and documentation, coordinating operational information, and assisting managers and senior team members

responsible for fleet and depot readiness and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating fleet and depot operations activities across planning, readiness, commissioning, and operational delivery phases, helping track progress against defined milestones and timelines.
  • Support the development and maintenance of depot operational documentation, trackers, dashboards, action logs, and databases, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and accessible.
  • Assist with depot readiness activities including site reviews, operational walkthroughs, inventory tracking, and coordination of operational requirements.
  • Support collaboration across Fleet Operations teams and cross- functional partners (e.g., depots, dispatch, workforce, technology, readiness, venue operations) by coordinating information, maintaining action trackers, and supporting follow-up activities.
  • Prepare meeting materials, briefings, operational summaries, and presentation content, including capturing notes and tracking actions from meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to the development and organization of operational guidance materials, standard operating procedures, planning documents, and training resources used across fleet and depot operations.
  • Assist with research, benchmarking, and basic operational analysis to support fleet and depot planning, operational readiness activities, and service delivery planning.
  • Support the coordination of fleet operational logistics including vehicle delivery, commissioning, deployment, and decommissioning activities as directed by managers and senior staff.
  • Monitor assigned tasks and escalate potential risks, issues, or dependencies to managers as appropriate.
  • Provide general coordination and logistical support for fleet operations projects, depot readiness activities, and cross-functional working groups.

Background & Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in transportation, mobility, logistics, event operations, public sector, planning, or similar fields.
  • Experience supporting project coordination activities involving multiple stakeholders or teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain documentation, trackers, and operational systems with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with basic project coordination tools, data tracking systems, or operational planning processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with transportation operations, major event delivery, or public agency environments is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience supporting operational readiness activities, site coordination, or logistics planning is beneficial.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • The position is located in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
  • Frequent travel in Los Angeles between venues and other sites. Must be responsible for own travel by any mode.
  • The LA28 office is an open floor plan working environment. Employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.  
  • There will be a requirement for working hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support special events, travel, and the 2028 Games.

Expectations:

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to support multiple fleet-

related workstreams, maintain accurate project systems, and work with

increasing autonomy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize information and produce clear summaries or planning materials.
  • Analytical and proactive, comfortable interpreting operational data, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Comfortable supporting operational and field-based activities, including depot readiness efforts and site coordination work.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Transportation Management, Transportation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration/Management, etc.).
  • Master’s degree may substitute for up to 1 years of experience at this level.
  • Coursework or training in mobility, transportation planning, data analysis, or project management is beneficial.
