Sensor Development & Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Posted about 1 month ago
We are seeking an initiative-taking Engineering or Science Intern to support the development and optimization of next-generation electrochemical sensor technologies for biological applications. This internship provides hands-on experience in ion-selective electrode (ISE) and metabolite sensor design, development, and manufacturing, including selected process optimization activities.
The intern will work in a fast-paced R&D and manufacturing environment, collaborating closely with scientists and engineers. Responsibilities include performing electrochemical testing, supporting signal processing efforts, analyzing complex datasets, and contributing to manufacturing process improvements that enhance sensor performance, production yield, and scalability.
This role is ideal for students interested in biotechnology, diagnostics, electrochemistry, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
-
Support ion selective electrode manufacturing and testing biological samples
-
Assist in metabolite sensor fabrication, verification and validationand validation studies
-
Contribute to electrocatalyst manufacturing process optimization initiatives
-
Perform electrochemical characterization techniques including:
-
Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)
-
Open Circuit Potential (OCP)
-
Chronoamperometry (CA)
-
Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
-
Conduct data analysis and visualization using Python and JMP
-
Help develop innovative manufacturing and process improvement solutions to optimize sensor performance
-
Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
-
Participate in weekly technical discussions and collaborative research meetings
