As a Design Engineer, you will work on the design, development, and engineering of gauges and checking fixtures for the Bradken product lines, which include Mill liners and Fixed plant.

You will have strong technical knowledge and will perform solid modelling, detailed drafting, hand calculations, tolerance studies, analysis/simulation, reverse engineering, rendered reports and other engineering activities for Bradken product offerings.

You will adhere to quality standards and investigate product failures to provide feedback for improvements. You will ensure all information about products/specifications is captured in the Product Lifecycle Management System and effectively disseminated to relevant stakeholders and customers.

You will have high attention to detail, you will also prepare technical reports, ensure information is captured in the product management system, and build relationships with internal customers and cross-functional teams. You will identify potential intellectual property and report it to the Engineering Team Lead while performing other duties as directed.

Key Technical Criteria:

  • Experience translating design requirements into detailed engineering drawings and specifications using mechanical engineering principles.
  • Design and develop gauges and checking fixtures that are fit for purpose, based on engineering drawings and specifications, and provide ongoing technical support.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, or engineering support of customized products.
  • Interpret engineering drawings with GD&T and define appropriate inspection methods and gauge concepts.
  • Review, check, and approve gauge and fixture design drawings to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, compliance, and functional suitability.
  • Support customers in troubleshooting measurement issues and improving inspection methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance gauge efficiency, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Hands-on experience managing CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and PLM systems.
  • Participation in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, and designs.
  • Understanding of CNC machining, grinding, welding, and heat treatment processes. Ability to manage and track tasks using project management tools.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities on an ad-hoc basis, as required.
  • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and cultures is preferred.

This role will be based in Coimbatore.
