Your Job:
As the Senior Apparel Merchandising Manager, APAC at Brooks, you will be the key product person focused on Brooks’ Apparel success in the APAC region, which translates to revenue and margin. Your main responsibility is to influence and merchandise the APAC apparel line, focusing on key stories to create the best product mix in terms of the right product at the right place and time. You will act as the liaison between the global product management, global merchandising, global product marketing, APAC region sales teams, APAC eCommerce, and APAC Footwear Merchandising ensuring consumer and market right assortments are brought to life from GTM to direct and retail channels. You are the “eyes and ears” of the competition as it pertains to the market, the runner, and the consumer. In this role you will own deep competitive analysis of Brooks Apparel versus our competition to provide feedback, insights, and recommendations to further advance our products.
### Your Responsibilities
Market Understanding
Lead initial research and analysis on brand performance, brand competitiveness, and product trends for apparel in the APAC Region.
Partner with Director, Apparel Product Line Management and Merchandising and Senior Product Merchandising Manager, APAC on identifying key insights and data findings to help drive and inform our product mix needs in APAC.
Contribute to the brand’s DNA and evolution by gathering insights and feedback on potential opportunities that may influence future product solutions to support our growth.
Work with Senior Product Merchandising Manager, APAC to insure the Apparel and Footwear product in APAC works together to deliver head-to-toe brand moments. Inclusive of recommended collaborations and product drops to influence target runners.
Lead and partner with Director, Apparel Product Line Management and Merchandising and Senior Product Merchandising Manager, APAC to create best in class assortments which will impact retail and visual merchandising guides aimed at establishing Brooks as a leader in run retail in the APAC region.
Influence Global Assortments
Own the creation and maintenance of the APAC Apparel Merchandising Guide with input from the Director, Apparel Product Line Management and Merchandising.
Lead and create strategies for new regional business opportunities (i.e., where to play, what products, how to win).
Partner with Product Marketing to ensure the use of the APAC Apparel Merchandising Guide in key photo shoots, workbook creation, online apparel merchandising, and sales tools.
Partner with global regions and Footwear Merchandising to align on global head-to-toe color opportunities on how to showcase our brand including storytelling, photography (location, product, and color) and timing.
Curate and share assortments for the APAC Region that align with Brooks brand growth and DTC needs including hero products/colors, price points, deliveries, and color flow.
Act as product representative for the Apparel line and provide consumer and market insights to the Global Merch team regarding SKU direction to support creating the right choices during the creation process.
APAC Product Line Data Management
Partner with the Apparel Merchandiser at Global HQ in creation and maintenance of all APAC line plans (inline, promo/athlete), data, & forecasts in FlexPLM software.
Collaborate with Apparel Merchandiser at Global HQ to maintain and communicate up-to-date product feature lists, product change (PCF) summaries and exception lists from kick-off to production.
Product Presentation & Communication
Responsible for sharing key product presentation with APAC regional partners and leading discussions to influence and gain product feedback.
Lead meetings with APAC regional accounts, at Sales Meetings, internal meetings, and at media events to showcase the apparel collection and present product findings, recommendations, and POV; bring relevant feedback and any gained insights back to the team to influence product creation.
### Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; equivalent years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree(s)
7+ years of experience working in apparel product (wholesale or retail)
3+ years of experience working for a running or outdoor apparel brand in related field (i.e., design, research, sales, tech rep, etc.)
Creative think with the ability to effectively communicate and convey ideas to design, development, color, and trend
Strong working knowledge of the apparel product merchandising process, retail environment, and consumer buying habits
Strong business orientation and analytical skills in managing SKU efficiency, product mix, and profitability
Demonstrated ability to conceive/create new thinking and ideas pertaining to the consumer and product line
Strong ability to work professionally and efficiently within the team and across departments and connect different functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills – skilled presenter, great communication ability
Ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate to achieve progress towards goals
Results-oriented person with the ability to balance numerous tasks and utilize all available resources
