Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, manages and directs all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and equipment maintenance. Supervises warehouse personnel, oversees staffing and scheduling, and ensures operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance with safety standards.
### What You Will Do
Directly supervises warehouse personnel, including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Develops and implements warehouse policies, safety procedures, and process improvements.
Oversees procurement of tools, materials, and equipment.
Conducts regular performance reviews and develops training plans for staff.
Schedules work, assigns work to staff and monitors progress of work being done
Monitors and evaluates warehouse productivity and work quality
Assists with regular maintenance and upkeep of company equipment, company vehicles and the warehouse environment
Provides guidance and direction for less experienced warehouse personnel
Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices
Maintain a physical presence onsite and provide assistance to specific groups, managers and project management teams as needed
Perform other duties as requested; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
### What You Will Need to be Successful
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry at least 50 pounds on a continual basis (including heavier loads with assistance)
Must be insurable with a good driving record
Successful completion of OSHA 10 training
Previous warehouse, receiving and forklift experience is preferred
Previous supervisory/leadership experience is preferred
Possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May coordinate and supervise the work of others who assist in specific assignments.
Special Requirements/Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to health or safety hazards such as, but not limited to, heavy equipment and machinery and inclement weather conditions. Frequent operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment. Work may be performed in cramped or awkward positions. Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying of 50+ lbs. (including heavier loads with assistance). Travel required to work sites. Frequent use of personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, safety vests, hard hats and steel-toed boots).
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write basic correspondence such as memos. Face-to-face and telephone communication. No presentation skills necessary.
Reasoning Ability and/or Critical Thinking:
Work situations require consideration and interpretation of circumstances or information to choose the most effective response. Solutions may be technical, yet relatively straightforward and well-defined, once problems are understood.
