Position Summary
Crestwood Advisors is a fast-growing, independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor overseeing $8+ billion in assets under management. With offices in Boston, Fairfield County (CT), and Providence (RI), Crestwood provides high-net-worth clients with comprehensive wealth and investment management solutions.
We are seeking to add a Trading Associate to join our Boston based team. The Trader role sits at the center of the investment process, supporting Portfolio Management, Research, Operations and Wealth Management teams while collaborating closely with our Senior Trader. The ideal candidate is motivated and intellectually curious with a passion for investment markets and 2+ years of trading or investment operations experience.
This is a hybrid position – 3 days in office/2 days remote.
Primary Responsibilities
Trading Responsibilities:
- Implement equity execution through the firm’s order management system.
- Perform daily reconciliation between trading system and custodial records to ensure accurate settlement.
- Maintain and update security models in the order management system.
- Ensure all trading activity adheres to firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in Research and Investment Committee meetings and highlight any security or trading concerns as investment decisions are considered.
- Manage customized options strategies, including options analysis for clients with concentrated positions.
Portfolio Management Team Support Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day trading and investment support to Portfolio Managers.
- Proactively identify and suggest portfolio actions including drift rebalancing trades, tax loss harvesting opportunities, trades in non-model securities driven by market movements.
- Communicate market conditions, execution updates, and trade information to Portfolio Management team and broader firm.
- Develop and maintain custom investment reports that leverage data from platforms including: Koyfin, Black Diamond, RedBlack and related systems.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ relevant experience in trading, investment operations or portfolio support.
- Strong technological aptitude with the ability to work across multiple platforms to ensure data accuracy and operational integrity.
- Experience with electronic trading and portfolio systems (e.g., RedBlack, Eclipse) strongly preferred.
- Exposure to VBA or other analytical tools is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple workflows simultaneously.
- Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $65,000-$95,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
