Manager, Facilities Engineering
T1 Energy
Posted about 7 hours ago
T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.
The Role
T1 Energy is looking to hire a Facility Manager to own all facilities engineering and operations at our G2 solar cell fab in Rockdale, TX. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who has managed the complex, unforgiving infrastructure that keeps a cleanroom running; HVAC, ultrapure water, process gases, exhaust, and multi-megawatt power distribution, and knows what it costs when any of it goes down.
You've kept fabs running. You've managed capital projects, responded to critical utility failures at 2am, and built the preventative maintenance programs that make those calls rare. At G2, you'll build the infrastructure backbone that makes everything else possible.
What You'll Do
Own all facilities operations at the G2 solar cell fab, including cleanroom HVAC and environmental controls, ultrapure water systems, process gas distribution, chemical delivery, exhaust treatment, and electrical power infrastructure.
Lead and develop a facilities engineering and maintenance team supporting 24/7 fab operations.
Manage mulit-megawatt electrical power systems including subsations, UPS, emergency power, and distribution infrastructure supporting high0density manufacturing equipment.
Establish and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all critical utility systems to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
Manage cleanroom environmental performance including temperature, humidity, particle counts, and pressurization in compliance with process requirements.
Lead facilities-related capital projects including system installations, upgrades, and expansions in coordination with construction and engineering teams.
Respond to and lead resolution of critical facility events and utility excursions with urgency and technical depth.
Manage utility vendor and service contractor relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and cost control.
Partner with Process, EHS, and Equipment teams to ensure facility systems support safe, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing operations.
Develop and maintain facilities documentation including drawings, SOPs, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
Who You Are
A seasoned facilities leader with deep hands-on knowledge of cleanroom utility systems and high-power electrical infrastructure.
Technically fluent across HVAC, UPW, process gases, exhaust, and electrical systems — you know how they interact and what happens when they don't.
Calm and decisive when critical systems fail, because you've been there and you know how to bring things back.
A strong leader who builds maintenance teams that are proactive, not reactive.
Operationally focused and highly collaborative across engineering, production, and EHS teams.
Qualifications
10+ years of facilities engineering and operations experience in a semiconductor, solar cell fab, or advanced cleanroom manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise managing cleanroom utility systems including HVAC, FFU, UPW, process gases, chemical delivery, and exhaust treatment.
Experience managing multi-megawatt power infrastructure including substations, UPS systems, and high-density electrical distribution.
Proven track record building and executing facilities maintenance programs that support high-uptime manufacturing operations.
Experience managing facilities capital projects from design through commissioning.
Strong knowledge of cleanroom classification standards and environmental control requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
