About KIMARU Talent:
Founded in 2020, KIMARU Talent partners with VCs, founders, and executives to recruit top-tier talent for gaming studios and tech startups.

“KIMARU” is a Japanese verb meaning “to decide (a victory),” which reflects our belief that every great hire moves a company closer to its next win.

We believe that business growth starts with great people. With deep expertise in startup recruitment, we’re proud to support our clients in making critical hiring decisions as they scale.

About the Company:

A fast-growing gaming studio operating multiple top-performing titles on a major UGC gaming platform, with a combined player base in the tens of millions. The company is headquartered in the US and operates fully remotely with a tight-knit, high-performing team.

About the Role:

The Manager of Analytics leads the data analytics function across a portfolio of live service games. This person manages and develops a team of embedded analysts, raises the bar on how the team works, and builds the tools and frameworks that help analysts deliver sharper, faster insights in close partnership with their product teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts embedded across multiple game titles, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunities.

  • Own the analytics function's centralized roadmap covering tooling, instrumentation, automation, and enablement priorities.

  • Partner with product managers and embedded analysts to maintain a prioritized backlog of analytics work aligned to each title's roadmap.

  • Establish and maintain high standards for analytical methodology, including A/B testing governance, telemetry design, and data storytelling.

  • Identify and drive opportunities to automate reporting, improve self-serve data access, and incorporate AI tooling.

  • Ensure the team produces clear, decision-oriented outputs trusted by game leads and leadership.

  • Build systems for knowledge sharing, including analysis reviews, shared documentation, reusable templates, and cross-title learnings.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics or data science, with 2+ years managing or leading an analytics team.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop analysts and raise team output quality and impact.

  • Deep expertise in A/B testing and experimentation, including hypothesis design, power analysis, and communicating results to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Advanced SQL skills and fluency across a modern data stack (data warehousing, BI tooling, analytics engineering).

  • Strong understanding of consumer product KPIs — retention, engagement, and monetization in a live service or F2P context.

  • Clear POV on where AI and automation can improve analytics team operations, with experience driving adoption.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in games, live service, mobile F2P, or UGC platforms.

  • Familiarity with dbt and Python.
