Tech Lead Manager (Corporate Accounting Pod)

Working Pattern: Full Time

Reports to: Pod Lead

Location: Singapore / Remote: US (East Coast) or Europe

About the Company

Multiplier Holdings is a VC-backed startup that acquires and scales high-impact professional services firms through AI and automation. Multiplier operates in high-stakes verticals like tax and corporate accounting, where complex workflows, regulatory requirements, and talent shortages create significant opportunities for automation.

Unlike traditional software vendors, Multiplier integrates tech and service delivery under one roof. The company builds in-house AI and workflow components that can be configured to fit the needs of each acquired firm, increasing firm efficiency and productivity, while elevating the experience for both clients and staff. The Role

The Tech Lead Manager (TLM) is a player-coach role. You will spend roughly half your time writing code and half your time leading a small sub-pod of two to three engineers. This is not a role where you manage from a distance; you are expected to stay close to the technical work and remain an active contributor.

You will own a defined problem area within our Tax Pod or Corp Pod. Depending on where you land, that might mean building automated email and tax advice drafting, R&D tax credit workflows, practice management tooling, or working paper generation from accounting data. You scope the problem, set the technical direction, hire into the sub-pod, and drive it to outcomes.

You will speak directly with our client firms. Understanding what they need, translating that into a build plan, and shipping it quickly is the core loop of this job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sub-pod ownership: Define the scope, roadmap, and delivery for a focused workflow area within the Tax or Corp pod.

  • Hands-on engineering: Write production code and remain an active technical contributor alongside your team.

  • Team building: Hire and develop a small sub-pod (~2 engineers), set expectations, and run a tight feedback loop.

  • Client engagement: Speak directly with firms and end users to understand problems, validate solutions, and gather fast feedback.

  • Technical direction: Make and own architecture and tooling decisions for your sub-pod's problem space.

  • Cross-pod coordination: Work with other TLMs, pod leads, and product to avoid duplication and align on shared components.

  • Rapid iteration: Scope tightly, ship quickly, and adjust based on what you observe in the field.

  • Quality and reliability: Maintain engineering standards appropriate to regulated, client-facing workflows.

Who You Are

  • You have 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or manager capacity.

  • You have shipped products end-to-end in a 0-to-1 environment, not just maintained or scaled existing systems.

  • You have managed engineers directly and have a track record of developing people, not just directing them.

  • You are comfortable talking to customers or clients and translating what you hear into a build plan.

  • You make decisions quickly with incomplete information and are prepared to own the outcome.

  • You have opinions about how to build, and you share them plainly without needing consensus on every point.

  • You are frustrated by slow shipping cycles and thrive when the feedback loop between build and customer is short.

  • You have worked in a domain with real compliance or operational stakes (tax, fintech, legal, accounting, or similar is a plus but not required).

Why Join Us

You will own a real problem area from day one, not inherit a backlog or support an existing roadmap. The firms you build for are live clients with immediate operational needs, which means your work has a direct, visible impact quickly. You will have the scope to hire into and shape your sub-pod rather than parachute into a fixed structure. This is an early role at a company that is still defining how it builds, which means the norms you establish will stick. If you want high autonomy, high ownership, and the chance to build something from the ground up, this is it.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to join early in the growth journey of a company building a differentiated operator model at the intersection of services and AI.
