About the role

We’re looking for an AI-native operator to help run and reinvent operations at Ferry.

This is not a traditional ops role. You won’t just manage workflows. You’ll rebuild them using AI, automation, and whatever tools get the job done. Your job is to eliminate manual work, increase speed and quality, and continuously redesign how operations function as we scale.

You'll be hands-on in daily operations while continuously building systems (using LLMs, APIs, and no-code tools) that make that work faster, cheaper, and more reliable. This role is ideal for someone who already uses AI as a default way of working. You’ll have real ownership and the opportunity to shape how an AI-first operations system is built from the ground up.

What you’ll do

  • Own and operate a core workflow end-to-end ensuring high performance across speed, quality, and reliability.

  • Continuously identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone work and replace it with AI-driven or automated systems.

  • Design and build internal tools using AI (e.g., GPT-based workflows, prompt chains, agents) and no-code tools (Zapier, Airtable, Retool, etc.).

  • Rapidly prototype and ship process improvements, moving from idea → implementation in hours or days, not weeks.

  • Use data to evaluate performance and iterate, tracking the impact of every automation or change you deploy.

  • Enable the frontline team by removing friction, simplifying workflows, and building systems that make great performance the default.

  • Continuously explore and adopt new AI tools, models, and techniques to improve how work gets done.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in startups or fast-moving environment.

  • AI tools are a core part of how you work; you use them to go faster and do better work, not as a novelty.

  • Hands-on experience building AI workflows, agents, or internal tools using some combination of:

    • LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)

    • No-code tools (Zapier, Airtable, Make, Retool, Notion, etc.)

    • Light coding (Python, SQL, APIs — not required but a plus)

  • An instinct for leverage — you're always asking how to get 10x output for the same input.

  • A builder mindset, creating scrappy solutions yourself whenever needed.

  • High velocity, defaulting to action, ship quickly, and iterate based on results.

  • Strong problem-solving including the ability to break down messy, ambiguous workflows and redesign them from first principles.
