### The Opportunity:
  • KPMG has a longstanding presence in the New Zealand market as a trusted M&A advisor, with a senior team having extensive investment banking experience.
  • We are looking to add a senior team member to help lead the day-to-day execution of M&A advisory mandates and support new business origination.
  • As part of KPMG’s globally ranked M&A platform (consistently #1 or #2 in the mid-market) and leading New Zealand team (winner of INFINZ mid-market M&A deal of the year in 2026), you’ll have access to a strong pipeline of high-quality mandates, including domestic and cross-border transactions, often delivered in collaboration with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.

  • ### Day To Day You Will:
  • Drive the day-to-day execution of M&A transactions from origination through to close
  • Take ownership of key workstreams including financial analysis, marketing materials preparation and project management.
  • Build and manage trusted relationships with clients and key external stakeholders, including investors, financiers and legal advisors
  • Support business development and contribute to deal origination
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Collaborate with KPMG’s global M&A network on cross-border opportunities
  • ### About You:
  • 6+ years’ experience in a high quality corporate advisory, investment banking or corporate development role
  • Proven ability to lead significant transaction workstreams
  • Strong technical skill set, including financial modelling and valuations
  • Strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong academic track record, with further study (e.g. postgraduate or CFA) viewed favourably
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships
  • A collaborative approach with colleagues, combined with a strong team mindset
  • Highly motivated with a clear commitment to a career in M&A
