Now, here’s what we’re building, and where you come in.

The mission

We're standing up a new product area called Revenue Engineering. Its job is to accelerate Relay's revenue flywheel by owning the systems and surfaces that turn revenue strategy into something customers can actually transact on.

That means two things:

Drive Product-Led Revenue Expansion. The next chapter of Relay's growth requires shifting beyond traditional sales-led motions to enable customers to transact directly within the product. You will own the strategy and execution of all Product-Led Growth initiatives, encompassing self-serve acquisition for new customers and automated, in-product revenue expansion for existing ones, eliminating manual intervention.

Give the business shared revenue truth. Today, Sales, CS, Finance, and Revenue Strategy each keep their own view of the numbers, and meetings get spent reconciling whose definition is right. You'll stand up Revenue Intelligence — a revenue data product that encodes Finance's authoritative definitions, plus department-specific ones where they exist, and serves them to the business through Claude and other interfaces. One source of revenue truth, queryable by anyone who needs it, and designed to empower key GTM teams with the context required for high-stakes decision-making.

The goal isn't automation for its own sake. The goal is making the flywheel spin faster — more new ARR, more expansion ARR, less revenue leaked to friction. Automation and self-serve are how you get there.

What you'll own

  • The full revenue chain — order entry, Cirrus, HQ's revenue and billing surfaces, the Cirrus → NetSuite handoff.
  • Customer-facing self-serve — for both new-logo acquisition and existing-customer expansion. This is new ground for Relay; you'll define what it looks like.
  • Revenue Intelligence — the revenue data product. You'll partner with our analytics team to encode Finance- and department-authored metric definitions into tools served through Claude and other interfaces. You PM it; the analytics team builds it.
  • The agent and automation layer that accelerates the revenue flywheel by abstracting and automating routine revenue workflows for Sales, CS, and Finance.
  • Merchandising and pricing operationalization — how Revenue Strategy's decisions become live offers in the system, in HQ, and in the self-serve experience.

You'll report directly to the SVP of Product & Strategy. You will work directly with the engineering teams working across our internal order-to-cash and revenue analytics systems as well as customer facing agents driving sales and upsell.

Our product philosophy

At Relay, Product Management is rarely about having all the answers; it's about having the most complete context, maintaining discipline, and acting as the steady hand that guides our teams forward. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Provide context, not just tasks. You'll deliver well-framed problems to Engineering, with clear rationale for why each one matters now — not a queue of stakeholder requests.
  • Own the stakeholder friction. When Sales, CS, or Finance escalates, you absorb and resolve. Engineering sees synthesized problems, not raw complaints.
  • Be a calming, decisive presence. You'll act as a buffer against competing demands and keep chaos out of the engineering room.
  • Contribute to global optimization. You'll synthesize business objectives and technical constraints and surface tradeoffs to product leadership, so we can prioritize across all engineering work streams.
  • Lead with quantitative rigor. You use data, not anecdotes, to measure friction, define success, and prioritize investments that demonstrably accelerate the revenue flywheel.

What we're looking for

This role is open on background. We're prioritizing judgment, trajectory, and fit over a specific resume shape. Strong candidates might come from billing or CPQ tooling, PLG and self-serve growth, RevOps platforms, fintech, or somewhere else entirely. What matters is the way you think.

You probably have:

  • 3–5 years of product management experience in enterprise software or SaaS, ideally including ownership of a meaningful product surface end-to-end.
  • A track record of moving business metrics, not just shipping features. You can point to outcomes — revenue, conversion, retention, cycle time — that you owned and influenced.
  • Comfort at the seam between business strategy and technical systems. You can hold your own in a pricing conversation with a CFO and in an architecture conversation with an engineer, and you know which conversation you're in.
  • Strong written communication. You frame problems in writing, you make recommendations clearly, and you know how to tailor a message to engineering, sales, finance, or an executive audience.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Hunt friction. You see a process and instinctively ask which steps shouldn't exist.
  • Think in flywheels. You're not just shipping a feature; you're moving an outcome, and you know which leading indicators tell you whether you're winning.
  • Are genuinely curious about agents and automation — not as buzzwords, but as tools you've actually worked with or are actively learning.
  • Have a builder's bias toward action. You'd rather ship a clumsy first version and learn than spend three months on the perfect spec.
  • Hold a high bar for yourself, take real ownership of outcomes, and don't hide behind team credit.
  • Are comfortable in ambiguity. This product area is being defined as you join it. The charter exists; the roadmap is yours to build.
