JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Business Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in planning and supporting high impact organizational initiatives, premium guest experiences, and cross departmental projects. This position provides day to day operational, administrative, and project coordination support to ensure seamless execution of strategic priorities, events, partnerships, and suite level hospitality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and execute major organizational projects (e.g., Outdoor Games, expansion initiatives, milestone events) by tracking timelines and deliverables, conducting research, coordinating logistics and vendors, and ensuring cross‑functional alignment with leadership expectations and project milestones.
- Aid in the planning of high‑profile events such as jersey retirements, anniversaries, alumni gatherings, and VIP programs by managing logistics including guest lists, credentials, run‑of‑show documents, on‑site support, and cross‑departmental collaboration to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Oversee hospitality and game‑day operations for the Terrace Suite and B37 by coordinating suite assignments, ticket trades, catering, guest lists, and STM engagement activities while delivering a premium guest experience aligned with the President’s standards. Maintain a premium level guest experience through proactive communication and on site support.
- Execute partnership marketing initiatives by managing activation timelines, executing sponsor activations across in‑arena, digital, and community platforms, compiling performance recaps, and ensuring timely fulfillment of partner commitments.
- Drive alumni relations initiatives by maintaining databases and contact records, creating newsletters, invitations and outreach, coordinating appearances and engagement activities, and tracking participation and engagement metrics.
- Facilitate the logistics and hospitality for VIPs, celebrities, and special guests by organizing seating, curated experiences, and communications with talent representatives and internal stakeholders.
- Fulfill merchandise and retail initiatives by organizing product launches, promotions, partnerships, and special collections while tracking inventory updates, campaign timelines, and performance insights. Provide administrative support for collaborations and special collections.
- Set up Advisory Board and external engagement activities by coordinating scheduling, materials preparation, communications, and briefing documents to support executive‑level meetings and relationships.
- Provide comprehensive executive and administrative support by recruiting and supervising a part‑time seasonal Administrative Associate; managing the Senior Vice President’s calendar, meetings, and travel; preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking follow‑up actions; creating and formatting presentations, reports, and briefing materials; and maintaining organized documentation and project files
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The Business Development Specialist must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education:
- BA/BS Degree (4-Year) in communications, marketing, business, or related field
Experience:
- 2-4 years experience in administrative support, project coordination, sports, entertainment, or marketing
- experience managing calendars
- experience planning events
Payscale: $71,000 - $75,000
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
