Introducing Trainline Partner Solutions 👋

Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS) is the B2B arm of Trainline, providing industry-leading rail technology and distribution solutions that make the complex world of rail retailing simpler for businesses across Europe. Our products power travel management companies, online booking tools, travel agencies and rail operators, helping them connect customers with rail in a seamless, efficient and scalable way.

As our Head of Commercial, Distribution, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth of our Distribution business. Reporting to the General Manager and sitting within the TPS leadership team, you’ll define and deliver the commercial strategy for one of Trainline’s most important growth areas. Working closely with leaders across Product, Technology, Operations and Finance, you’ll combine strategic thinking, commercial leadership and relationship management to drive sustainable growth, strengthen partner relationships and ensure our teams deliver an exceptional experience for our customers and partners.

In this role as the Head of Commercial, Distribution, you will...🚄

  • Define and deliver the commercial strategy for our Distribution business, setting clear growth objectives and ensuring teams are aligned to achieve ambitious revenue and performance targets.

  • Lead, develop and inspire multidisciplinary teams across Sales, Account Management, Integration and Service Desk functions, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners and customers, acting as an executive sponsor for critical accounts and supporting long-term commercial success.

  • Shape and execute go-to-market strategies, identifying new growth opportunities, developing compelling propositions and leading complex commercial negotiations and renewals.

  • Partner closely with Product, Technology, Operations and Finance teams to ensure commercial priorities are reflected in business plans, product roadmaps and operational delivery.

  • Represent Trainline Partner Solutions externally, acting as a senior ambassador with partners, customers and industry stakeholders while championing the value of rail across the travel ecosystem.

  • Oversee the operational performance of the Distribution function, ensuring high service standards, strong partner satisfaction and effective delivery across integration and support activities.

  • Provide clear commercial leadership and insight to senior stakeholders, using data, market intelligence and customer feedback to inform decision-making and drive sustainable growth.

  • Significant experience leading commercial functions within a B2B technology, travel, distribution or similarly complex environment, with responsibility for driving revenue growth and business performance.

  • A proven track record of building, leading and developing high-performing teams, creating environments where people can thrive, grow and deliver outstanding results.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience translating market opportunities, customer needs and performance data into successful business strategies.

  • Extensive experience managing strategic customer and partner relationships, with the credibility to engage, influence and negotiate effectively at executive level.

  • The ability to navigate complex organisational environments, building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and balancing competing priorities to achieve shared outcomes.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams spanning commercial, operational and technical functions, bringing people together around a common vision and commercial agenda.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and adapt your approach for a wide range of audiences.

  • An entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset, with a collaborative approach, sound judgement and a passion for identifying new ways to create value for customers, partners and the wider business.
