SUMMARY
A Bus Project Engineer is responsible for managing transit bus engineering and technical aspects. This includes coordinating with various teams, managing schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and providing technical guidance to team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in the following design tasks: Initial vehicle layout schemes, vehicle configuration tables, performance calculations, etc.
- Overall vehicle layout.
- Prepare assembly and maintenance analysis reports for area components or the entire vehicle based on layout conditions or customer requirements
- Read and create wiring diagrams and schematics using AutoCAD.
- Familiar with Siemens NX software
- Responsible for design changes within the department’s scope, including drawings, digital models, technical documents, etc.
- Analyze design reliability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or off site when required.
- Create BOM and oversee the creation of drawings to support new designs.
- If needed, be able to travel to customer’s site for troubleshooting
- Provide support to other departments such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service.
- Recommend improvements to engineering policies and establish new procedures as needed.
- Maintain an awareness of how assigned tasks impact schedule, scope, budget, and quality at every stage of development, from concept to end of life.
- Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline.

TRAVEL : 10% or less
PAY RANGE: $70,000-$90,000
