The company
Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.
That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.
We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive iwoca's growth by managing, developing, and expanding our partner network.
In this role, you'll be responsible for maximizing the value of our existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities to strengthen them. We already work with a wide range of partners across Germany to provide SMEs with fast and flexible access to finance, often through API integrations embedded directly into our partners' platforms and customer journeys.
As a Business Development Manager, you'll focus on building strategic relationships, driving partner performance, and unlocking growth opportunities across our portfolio. You'll work closely with partners to ensure they get the most out of working with iwoca, while helping shape the future of our partnership strategy in Germany.
Ultimately, your success will be measured by your ability to grow partner-generated funding volumes, deepen partner engagement, and deliver meaningful value to both our partners and their customers.
The team
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) for our intermediary network. In this role, you will build and expand relationships with our intermediaries and maximize the value of existing partnerships.
In addition to partnerships with banks, comparison platforms, and other fintechs, we have a network of more than 1,000 independent intermediaries in Germany (§34c German Trade Regulation Act). These include insurance brokers, business consultants, and independent financial advisors who typically maintain strong local client relationships and are crucial to our success in Germany.
The right mix of telephone support, in-person meetings (e.g., organizing regional broker lunches), and automated outreach through our CRM systems is key to success.
Working closely with our Head of Business Development and the Commercial Strategy team, you will develop and implement a holistic strategy - from onboarding processes to activation campaigns - to optimize existing processes and unlock the full potential of this intermediary network.
The role
Building, maintaining, and expanding relationships with commercial loan intermediaries in Germany.
Planning, organizing, and conducting partner meetings and regional events; willingness to travel extensively (regular on-site visits to intermediaries, events, and trade fairs).
Managing and automating partner communications through our CRM system, HubSpot (segmentation, campaigns, nurturing).
Developing and implementing enablement initiatives (training sessions, webinars, sales materials, and playbooks).
Analyzing key KPIs (activation rate, conversion, volume, customer lifetime value) and deriving concrete actions from the findings.
Providing phone and in-person support, including regular check-ins and performance reviews.
Optimizing and standardizing onboarding processes in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
Continuously gathering market feedback and sharing it with product and process teams to improve the partner journey.
The requirements
Essential:
Demonstrates curiosity to use and learn more about AI tools. You’ll already be comfortable using AI tools in practical ways to help solve problems, increase productivity and improve quality of work, showing good judgement about when to use them and the ability to explain the reasoning behind that use.
We are looking for colleagues who are smart, down-to-earth, motivated, and eager to continuously develop themselves. Ideally, you bring a strategic and sales-oriented mindset, along with 3–5 years of experience in banking, fintech, consulting, or a similar field.
You enjoy sales: you proactively conduct outreach by phone and email, meet partners in person, activate and grow a large intermediary network, and enjoy spending time in the field with partners. At the same time, you think in terms of scalability: you design efficient, data-driven processes, drive automation initiatives, and use tools intelligently to maximize impact and efficiency.
The salary
We expect to pay from 50.000 € und 67.000 € for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
