FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN CONSULTANT

Type: Independent Contractor (Project-Based, Remote)
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional virtual meetings and campaign-related activities in
Los Angeles.
Compensation: $5,000 flat project fee, commensurate with experience.
Project Period: ASAP start through approximately June/July (6 weeks)
Availability: Consultant should generally be available during standard business hours (Monday–
Friday) to collaborate with CIH staff and partners, with occasional evening or weekend
availability as needed.
This is an independent contractor position and does not include employee benefits.

Children in Harmony (CIH) is a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to provide the tools and resources youth need to make their voices heard through music-making, emotional learning, and community engagement. Through our flagship program, The Amani Project, we integrate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into music education, strengthening emotional intelligence, confidence, and community connection. Since 2017, CIH has reached thousands of youth worldwide, and we are now expanding our impact in the United States as we launch programming in Los Angeles.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Children in Harmony (CIH) is seeking a highly connected, action-oriented Fundraising Campaign Consultant to support its #MakeMusicDay2026 campaign leading up to and after June 21, 2026.

This is a short-term, project-based engagement focused on activating relationships, generating campaign visibility, and driving fundraising support through direct outreach. The ideal candidate is someone with an established network who can quickly mobilize connections across philanthropy, entertainment, business, and community circles to support the campaign through donations, auction participation, sponsorships, and social engagement. Working directly with the Executive Director, the consultant will help expand campaign momentum and increase visibility for CIH’s mission of empowering youth through music- making and social-emotional learning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development & Fundraising

  • Conduct outreach for Children in Harmony’s online charity auction, including securing auction packages, experiences, and donor participation
  • Leverage personal and professional networks to generate direct campaign donations and introductions to potential supporters.
  • Conduct outreach to corporate supporters and the local Los Angeles business community for #MakeMusicDay partnerships.
  • Conduct outreach to musicians, influencers, entertainment industry contacts an community leaders and partners to support the campaign through social media engagement and amplification.
  • Identify new opportunities to increase campaign visibility, engagement, and fundraising momentum.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–7+ years of progressive nonprofit experience in fundraising or similar field, including major gifts and campaign execution.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, partnerships, entertainment, events, marketing business development or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated success securing six-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Strong professional network and demonstrated ability to generate fundraising, sponsorship, or partnership opportunities through relationship-based outreach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can move quickly, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced campaign environment.
  • Familiarity with the Los Angeles business, entertainment, nonprofit or creative community strongly preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize concurrent campaign deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule with availability during active campaign periods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to nonprofit work and CIH’s mission.

POTENTIAL FUTURE ENGAGEMENT
There may be an opportunity to re-engage the consultant for a separate contract supporting Children in Harmony’s Giving Tuesday and Year-End fundraising campaign later in 2026.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a contract-based, remote engagement. Work is primarily remote, with occasional in-person events or meetings in Los Angeles. Consultant must be willing to use personal equipment and may be required to complete background clearances for certain partner sites.
