ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Administrative Assistant to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time or part-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role will be short-term (~6 months) ending in December 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Scan and securely shred physical documents in accordance with office procedures.

  • Organize, maintain, and update digital and electronic files.

  • Track, receive, and relay messages to appropriate staff.

  • Draft, prepare, and distribute internal and external correspondence.

  • Maintain organized electronic and hardcopy filing systems.

  • Coordinate calendars, schedules, meetings, and related logistics.

  • Assist with travel arrangements and coordination as needed.

  • Order and manage office supplies and basic inventory.

  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding established administrative policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 1+ years of relevant experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

About the Site

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
